This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effects of three different Omega-3:Omega-6 dietary ratios (control, 1:4, and 1:10) on postoperative recovery in 24 cats with feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS) undergoing full-mouth extraction. Cats were monitored for 30 days with measurements of stomatitis index, inflammatory markers (TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, IL-10), serum amyloid A, complete blood count, hepatic/renal function, and coagulation parameters. The 1:4 ratio group demonstrated superior clinical outcomes, including 65% reduction in stomatitis index, significant decreases in pro-inflammatory cytokines, and 46.20% increase in the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. Serum amyloid A decreased 90.09% in the 1:4 group, with improved hematologic parameters. All tested ratios proved safe with no adverse effects on hepatic, renal, or coagulation function. These findings support the use of omega-3:omega-6 supplementation at a 1:4 ratio immediately following FCGS extraction procedures to enhance postoperative healing and reduce inflammation.
