This study investigated plasma ADAMTS13 activity in dogs with chronic enteropathy (CE) compared to healthy controls. Researchers measured ADAMTS13 activity, von Willebrand factor antigen (vWF:Ag), and von Willebrand factor collagen binding activity (vWF:CBA) in 19 dogs with CE and 40 healthy dogs. Using ELISA methodology and non-parametric statistical analysis, results showed ADAMTS13 activity and vWF:Ag were not significantly different between groups. However, vWF:CBA was lower in CE dogs. Notably, 33% of CE dogs with hypoalbuminemia had reduced ADAMTS13 activity below reference intervals.
