This validation study evaluated the clinical accuracy of a recalibrated IOPVet indentation tonometer in 97 canine eyes (49 dogs) compared to recalibrated TonoVet Plus (rTVP) and post-mortem manometry. The study included three groups: glaucomatous dogs (67 eyes), healthy controls (20 eyes), and euthanized dogs for manometric validation (10 eyes). IOPVet readings were recorded as semi-quantitative intervals (<10, 10-29, 30-49, ≥50 mmHg). Results demonstrated 100% sensitivity for detecting elevated IOP (≥30 mmHg) and 84.8% specificity for normotensive eyes, with 21.7% of normal eyes overestimated. Chi-square analysis confirmed significant agreement with rTVP (χ=50.2, p<0.0001). Manometric validation showed excellent accuracy: 95% (10-29 mmHg), 100% (30-49 mmHg), and 94% (≥50 mmHg), with no misclassifications below 30 mmHg. The recalibrated IOPVet demonstrates markedly improved diagnostic performance, making it suitable for clinical integration and owner-assisted glaucoma monitoring in veterinary practice.
