This retrospective study evaluated bovine amniotic membrane transplantation (BAMT) outcomes in 52 cats (56 eyes) with feline corneal sequestrum (FCS) treated between 2016 and 2023. After lamellar keratectomy and BAMT application, outcomes were assessed using the Royal Veterinary College Corneal Clarity Score (RVC-CCS) and clinical evaluation. The cohort was predominantly brachycephalic (61.5%), with Persian cats representing 53.8% of cases. Mean patient age was 5 years with median follow-up of 89.5 days. Forty-five cases (80.4%) experienced no complications. Twelve eyes (21.4%) developed FCS recurrence, with seven occurring within 2 months postoperatively. Minor complications included one suture dehiscence and one postoperative infection; rare complications were hemorrhage and amniotic membrane layer adhesion failure. At median follow-up, 90% of cases achieved RVC-CCS scores ≤G2, indicating excellent corneal transparency. This study demonstrates BAMT with freezing storage as an effective surgical adjunct for managing large FCS, providing favorable functional and esthetic outcomes with a low complication rate and minimal long-term opacity.
