This experimental study evaluated the immediate effects of three sodium hyaluronate-based artificial tear formulations on tear film osmolality (TFO) in 40 healthy brachycephalic dogs. The control group showed minimal change of 3.4 mOsm/L (1.1%). Statistical analysis confirmed significant differences between treatment groups and controls, with Group 1 showing significant superiority over the control group (p=0.006). These findings suggest sodium hyaluronate-containing artificial tears provide meaningful immediate osmolality normalization in brachycephalic dogs.
